The mission of The Adoption Option is to collaboratively promote education and outreach in order to provide decision-making counseling and facilitate the lifelong process of adoption through a commitment to be client-centered, focusing on spirituality and physical and emotional well-being.

The Adoption Option, a partnership between The Village Family Service Center and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, offers pregnancy counseling, adoption services and post-adoption search support.
The adoption process provides an opportunity for families to learn about adoption issues and for Adoption Option staff to learn about the families. The Adoption Option has the responsibility to place each child within the best possible adoptive home and to help prospective parents prepare for the uniqueness of their adoption plan.
You’re pregnant...now what? An unplanned pregnancy can seem like the end of the world. Counselors at the Adoption Option understand your fears. We can help you look at your options and decide, without pressure, what you want to do. Our job is to help you get organized so you can make decisions about your future.
The Adoption Option offers Search and Disclosure Services to help adopted adults, birth siblings, and birth parents establish contact with one another that is mutually agreed upon. These services can also help adopted adults receive non-identifying information from the adoption record, such as physical descriptions of birth families and their education, interests, and health.
