Openness In Adoption
Openness is when birth parents and adoptive parents communicate with each other. There is a continuum of openness for all parties in adoption: reviewing non-identifying information, including pictures and background information; meetings before the child is born; on-going exchange of phone calls, letters, pictures; participation in doctor visits, labor and delivery; and meetings after the birth of the child.
