Bowl for Kids' Sake kicks off in March

FARGO – Fargo-Moorhead residents can support youth in their community next month at the lane – bowling and checkout – through Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the signature fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village Family Service Center.

Bowl for Kids' Sake at West Acres Bowl supports Big Brothers Big Sisters BBBS Coworkers, friends and families are encouraged to form bowling teams, collect pledges, and then attend one of four Bowl for Kids’ Sake events, 3:30 and 9:30 p.m. March 22 and 29 at West Acres Bowl, 3402 Interstate Blvd., Fargo. Each team member is asked to raise at least $125. Participants receive a T-shirt, pizza and pop, and prizes are awarded. Businesses can sponsor a team or be recognized as a lane sponsor.

In addition to the bowling events, area Hornbacher’s stores will sell paper bowling pins for $1 from March 13 to March 29.

Proceeds from both efforts help match more kids in need of a mentor with a volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister who will stand in their corner and clear the path for their biggest possible future. “Every dollar raised helps ignite the potential in youth right here in our community,” said Susan Smith, program director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village. “Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a fun event and a great opportunity to get involved and make a lasting impact.”
