UPDATED MARCH 16, 2020: Per the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the North Dakota Department of Health, we are taking preventive measures to limit the risk for exposure to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and minimize the potential burden on our regional healthcare systems. As such, we will hold off on our 2020 Bowl for Kids' Sake events, scheduled for Thursday, March 26, and Friday, March 27. More information will be shared as further decisions are made.
ORIGINAL NEWS RELEASE:
FARGO – Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the signature fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village Family Service Center, is hitting the lanes once again to defend the potential of kids in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Corporate teams will take part in Bowl for Kids’ Sake events on Thursday, March 26, and Friday, March 27, at West Acres Bowl, 3402 Interstate Blvd., Fargo. Lane sponsorships are available until March 15 by calling Brittney Hogan at 701-451-5033.
Individuals may create a team and fundraise for Big Brothers Big Sisters by registering at www.TheVillageFamily.org/BFKS20. Donations in support of the bowling teams can also be made on that website.
In addition, all local Hornbacher’s stores will sell paper bowling pins from March 11 through March 27 for $1. Hornbacher’s is the title sponsor for Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
Proceeds from the bowling events and pin sales allow kids in need of a mentor to be matched with a volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister who will clear the path to the child’s biggest possible future.
Can’t participate but want to help? More than 90 youth are waiting for someone to stand in their corner. For more information about volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, call 701-451-4877 or visit BBBSFargo.org.
