Join First Step Recovery of The Village Family Service Center in a Celebration of Recovery! Throughout the month of September, Recovery Month, we will raise awareness about the disease of addiction and the hope that treatment provides. On September 16, Licensed Addiction Counselor Kristie Spooner will lead a community education event titled Addiction in Families: Questions You're Scared to Ask. This two-hour virtual lecture will share information about the disease of addiction and its impact on families. The cost is $10 and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
On September 30, Mary Jo Hansen with First Step Recovery and Denise Hellekson with The Village Business Institute will co-present the virtual training seminar Substance Use Awareness Amid COVID-19. This free noon-hour lecture will offer positive coping techniques and resources for support. Register via Eventbrite.
