Doing Your Best Today Adolescent DBT Group Begins
Teenagers who struggle with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and mood management can feel better about themselves, improve their relationships and gain control of their emotions thanks to a weekly therapy group starting Thursday, July 16, at The Village Family Service Center.
Over the course of 11 weeks, participants learn skills to help regulate emotions, cope with frustrations, communicate effectively and be more mindful, aware and focused.
Doing Your Best Today utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an effective treatment for people who have difficulty controlling their emotions and behaviors. It focuses on the core areas of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, while guiding people to make decisions using both logic and emotion.
The group is led by Village providers Kathryn Davis Tidd, MSW, LICSW, and Brooke Hammond, MS, LAMFT. Insurance is accepted. For more information or to register, call The Village’s Moorhead office at 701-451-4811.
