FARGO – Registration is open for the 2019 Michael Kaspari Memorial Run for Recovery. The 5K run/walk and 1K family fun run/walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at M.B. Johnson Park in Moorhead. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the races starting at 10 a.m.
The Run for Recovery is held during National Recovery Month and raises awareness about addiction treatment. It honors Michael Kaspari, who co-founded First Step Recovery in Fargo in 2000. He died in April 2017 following a fall in his home.
First Step Recovery, a program of The Village Family Service Center, provides outpatient addiction treatment for adults, as well as programming for family members. Funds raised by participants and sponsors support First Step’s Family Program, which is offered at no cost to loved ones of those in treatment at First Step.
