The Village Family Service Center has selected Susan Trnka to serve as Director of Development. Trnka will lead the fundraising, planned giving and events team for The Village, which will celebrate 130 years of service in 2021.
Trnka graduated from North Dakota State University with a nursing degree and worked in various nurse manager positions in the Fargo-Moorhead area, including as the Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Innovis Health. She brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership, development and fundraising expertise to The Village. Most notably, she served 8 years as Executive Director for Friends of Chimbote, a North Dakota-based nonprofit that serves a poverty-stricken community in Peru, and for the past several years as a Regional Advancement Officer for a national civil rights organization. Trnka resides in rural West Fargo with her husband, Jeff.
The Village helps children and families across North Dakota and Minnesota through behavioral health services, such as mental health counseling, addiction treatment, in-home family therapy, adoption, financial counseling, an employee assistance program and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
