FARGO – Alex Stern Family Foundation has awarded a grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of The Village Family Service Center to strengthen and sustain mentoring relationships for at-risk youth in the Fargo-Moorhead community.
Big Brothers Big Sisters matches kids ages 6 to 14 with volunteer “Bigs” who spend about four hours a month with their “Little,” either at school or out in the community. These one-to-one relationships lead to higher self-esteem, improved academic performance, and stronger social connections.
This funding directly supports key components of our work, including volunteer recruitment and training, youth and family enrollment, creating and supporting matches, collaborating with schools and parents, coordinating match activities and events, evaluating outcomes, and ongoing program outreach. BBBS is grateful for the continued support of the Alex Stern Family Foundation.
