Love and Logic parenting groups scheduled in Alexandria

Two 6-week classes offered by The Village Family Service Center; no cost for Douglas County residents

ALEXANDRIA – Two Love and Logic® parenting groups are planned at The Village Family Service Center, 4133 Iowa St., Suite 105, Alexandria:

  • Parenting the Love and Logic Way® will meet from 4 to 5:30 pm Tuesdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 11. This group teaches parents tools to stay calm, set limits, and put an end to arguing and back talk.
  • Love and Logic: Adults Supporting Youth with Challenging Pasts® will be held from 4 to 5:30 pm Tuesdays, Nov. 8 through Dec. 13. Parents, caregivers, and other adults supporting children and teens who’ve experienced trauma can learn strategies and tools to cope.

Village Therapist Krystina Weiss will lead participants through interactive sessions, which teach them how to develop healthy, respectful, and loving relationships with their children. To register, call 320-762-8851.

The groups are free for Douglas County residents to attend thanks to grant funding from the Alexandria Area Community Foundation. The cost for parents or caregivers who live outside Douglas County is $240 per group. This fee may be covered by The Village Employee Assistance Program.
