Nonprofit organizations, such as The Village, earn the seal by voluntarily participating in Charities Review Council’s web-based review process. The review looks at 25 accountability standards in four key areas: public disclosure, governance, financial activity, and fundraising.
The Village’s practices, policies, and procedures align with widely accepted standards of accountability, which leads to greater strength, efficacy, and the achievement of the Meets Standards seal, according to Charities Review Council. By participating in the review process, The Village demonstrates responsibility, integrity, and transparency to donors as well as the general public. The Village also received the seal in 2017.
The Village’s full review report is available online at www.smartgivers.org, and the organization will also be listed in Charities Review Council’s bi-annual Smart Giver Newsletter.
