Part of my motivation in being a therapist is the privilege of partnering alongside people on their journeys to healing while restoring hopefulness in the goals they have for their lives. Your needs, your voice, and your boundaries matter just as much as anyone else's. You can care for others without abandoning yourself.

I earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from North Dakota State University and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Dakota. I have been with The Village since 2005 and use a range of approaches, including CBT, TF-CBT, Narrative Therapy, Brainspotting, EMDR, Nurtured Heart Parenting, PCIT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy.

Clients describe me as easy to talk to. I bring warmth, curiosity, and occasional humor, and I welcome feedback to keep therapy responsive. I have a special interest in working with women, while also welcoming anyone seeking a supportive space to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed by persistent anxiety, painful relationship patterns, or life transitions that disrupt their sense of peace. Together, we can build clarity, confidence, and balance while honoring the connection between stress, trauma, and the body. It’s okay to ask for help; it could be the step that moves you forward!

"Mary was very nice and not judgy at all. She did not make us feel stupid."
